I was born into astrology and was very fortunate to have a great teacher. Although, I was disheartened by it for many years because I saw the destructive side. I saw people becoming fatalistic, needy and worst of all, handing over their own willpower to the suggestions of an astrological placement. So, I found it extremely difficult to see the constructive side of it.
To make matters worse, I met people through an entirely different field, who worked on film sets for well-known astrologers endorsed by the mainstream media, listening to their complaints about their jobs and the fact that they used to do ‘runs’ to find as much information about astrological clients before shows to make their ‘expert’ seem all the more of an expert.
I knew the accuracy of astrology, but then I saw that the celebrity astrologers were primarily money-making machines and worse still they were destroying and contaminating the reputation of this ancient knowledge. Similar to the limited, general zodiac sign forecasts available in most newspapers which are invariably misleading and superstitious.
So from childhood looking up in confusion at astrology, it was only later after going through transformative experiences, that I finally was able to have an overall look from above the situation, compiling and synthesising this great knowledge.
I learnt that it wasn’t the astrology that was destructive, as it is merely a way of collecting data and by applying the principle of correspondence while observing the rhythms and patterns. It was a tool and like all tools, it could be used destructively or constructively.
« Astrology can only tell us of the energies involved. It can only tell us when, where and what the energies are doing. It shows cause and effect. It is a rough map of the karmic forces we have aligned with and set into motion in the past. It shows how we always have a second chance to tap into these same energies at their highest frequency when they come around again, as they always do. »
It is disheartening to see many astrologers who are giving such destructive suggestions to impressionable minds. This is paramount to cursing and highly erroneous. Agreed, there is a very fine line to balance and walk along, and the biggest dilemma for a wise, compassionate and knowledgable astrologer is whether to warn someone of challenges ahead, but all the while trying not to cause fear.
« An astrological chart is about movement and potential. Just look at the universe in constant motion, ebbing and flowing, and so should we be if we are to move and cooperate with it, gaining the most from the energies and manifesting our highest potential. »
People love to depend on something or someone, mainly because they do not want to take full responsibility. They are quite happy to have someone to lead and blame, so they never have to look at themselves.
And then you have those who are happy to oblige and will willingly be the ‘saviour’ and often lead, allowing themselves to be put on a pedestal. However, therein is the double-edged sword. How quickly the needy ones will pull off and replace the leaders on that pedestal when they do not get what they want and still don’t look within, because they found a new leader/teacher who is willing to take their burden. Cause and effect forever prevail.
Freedom comes from taking responsibility and looking within and this eventually manifests in the environment.
